LANCASTER AIRPORT KICKS OFF 20-YEAR MASTER PLAN

Lancaster, PA – [October 2024] – The Lancaster Airport (LNS) has kicked off a master planning effort to guide development at the airport over the next 20 years and beyond.

The airport’s previous Master Plan was finalized in 2006.

“Opportunities on a local and regional level coupled with new FAA policies and design standards contribute to the need for a thorough planning study to develop a strategic development plan for LNS,” says Ed Foster, Airport Executive Director.

The airport has contracted the services of Delta Airport Consultants, Inc. and its team of subconsultants to conduct the Master Plan study.  The outcome of the study will provide planning and development guidance for landside and airside facilities and to address land development considerations at LNS.

The project is funded in part by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Bureau of Aviation (BoA).

The scope of the planning effort includes opportunities for stakeholder and public input, including a Master Plan Advisory Committee (MPAC) consisting of community and business leaders, and a public open house anticipated to be held in 2025.
